| KEY VERSE ““Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.” Matthew 13:45 FAITH STORY Matthew 13:44-46 FAITH FOCUS This passage may be interpreted in at least two major ways. First, it speaks about the value of the kingdom of heaven, which is worth giving everything away in order to get it. The second interpretation may be seen when taking into consideration the larger context of the biblical story. For instance, in light of John 3:16, the merchant is God and the treasure or the pearl is humanity. SESSION GOAL To invite students to focus on the value that God sees in us and respond by accepting that love. Continued... |
